Richard Waring
Managing Director
Richard graduated from the University of Oxford with a first-class master's degree and began his career as a trainee accountant at the Co-op Group. After completing his chartership, he took on a senior finance role in the legal sector, where he worked on the launch of new products. Richard then transitioned to the insurance industry at DAS, collaborating closely with ERGO and MunichRE.
In 2017, he joined Europa as Head of Finance, gaining valuable insights into the business, this led to a board position as Finance Director. In 2022, Richard took over as Managing Director, where he initiated a strategy for digital transformation. His vision places technology at the forefront of everything Europa does for its customers while also strengthening relationships with the company's extensive insurer panel and distribution channels.
Andrew Bessell
Operations and IT Director
Andrew joined Europa in 2010 after working at the Brightside Group. He brought extensive experience in personal lines insurance and currently leads our customer contact strategy. With a customer–centric approach, Andrew is dedicated to delivering an omni–channel experience. He has played a key role in integrating third–party technology to achieve these goals and help reduce our cost to serve.
In addition, Andrew oversees our IT infrastructure and bespoke developments. With over 40 years of experience in both sales and service, his expertise has been invaluable in selecting the right systems to meet our customers' needs and demands, as well as in creating operational efficiencies.
Jonathan Dixon
Commercial Director
Jonathan Dixon, Commercial Director at Europa Group, brings 38 years of extensive experience in the insurance industry. Beginning his career at Royal Insurance in Dublin, Jonathan developed a solid foundation in underwriting and risk management. His journey continued with key roles at RSA and Ageas, where he further honed his expertise in the sector.
Transitioning into broking with Brightside, Jonathan gained invaluable experience in client relationships and distribution, setting the stage for his current role. Since joining Europa Group in 2020 as Commercial Director, he has been instrumental in strengthening strategic relationships, enhancing distribution channels, and driving innovative commercial strategies that support the company's growth objectives.
Jonathan's deep industry knowledge, coupled with his commitment to building impactful partnerships, has helped shape Europa's success.
Alyson Hanley
People Director
As People Director, Alyson has 32 years of Human resources experience both in the public and private sectors. She has extensive knowledge of Europa Group having been part of the team for over 25 years.
Alyson is dedicated to fostering a workplace where our people are at the heart of everything we do. Responsible for all people strategy Alyson oversees and leads on all aspects of our people plan and our staff development programs, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to grow and thrive.

Head of Operations
With 17 years of experience at Europa Group, Nigel has developed a strong foundation in Customer Service, Sales, and Operations, with a focus on enhancing Customer Experience.
Nigel is deeply committed to placing customers at the heart of everything we do, ensuring their needs are met while driving business success. His expertise lies in creating and executing operational strategies that prioritise efficiency and a low cost to serve.

Head of Business Systems
Richard Nicholson is the Head of Business Systems at Europa Insurance, where he leads the technical side of the company's digital transformation. With a Master's Degree in Data Science from the University of Bristol and over 20 years of experience in software development, Richard brings a wealth of expertise to his role.
Before transitioning to the insurance industry, Richard gained extensive experience across multiple sectors, including Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, and Broadcast. For the past decade, he has focused on managing development teams, driving innovation, and delivering complex technical solutions.
Richard is proficient in a broad range of technology stacks, including Java, Python, JavaScript, and .NET, and is passionate about leveraging these technologies to deliver in–house developed solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business. His leadership is instrumental in guiding Europa Insurance through its digital transformation, ensuring the company stays at the forefront of industry innovation.

Luke Harrison
Head of Underwriting
Luke is the Head of Underwriting at Europa Group, a role which has been held since joining the company in July 2011. A graduate of the University of Exeter, Luke brings a wealth of expertise to their position, overseeing a wide range of responsibilities that are integral to company success.
With a strong focus on strategic leadership, Luke manages key areas such as product underwriting, pricing and design. Additionally, Luke has a pivotal role in overseeing the company's relationships with strategic partners to ensuring optimal product performance success.
Luke is also responsible for managing risk areas including the fraud infrastructure and ancillary products, and he is responsible for overseeing the claims processes to ensure a seamless experience for both clients and partners. The comprehensive understanding that Luke brings of the industry and strategic insight has been crucial in driving growth and maintaining Europa's strong relationships.

Head of Business Performance, Pricing & Analytics
As Head of Business Performance, Pricing & Analytics, Jordan specialises in driving retail pricing strategies, governance, and revenue generation through meticulous budgeting and analysis.
With a strong focus on data management and governance, Jordan leads efforts in providing high–quality management information and reporting that informs key business decisions. His expertise extends to overseeing third–party data provision and ingress, ensuring seamless integration for comprehensive insights.

Martin Lewton
Work Flow Manager
Martin Lewton is a highly skilled professional with over 20 years of experience in workforce planning and management. As the Work Flow Manager at Europa Group, he specialises in omni–channel customer experience, Genesys solutions, workforce methodologies, staffing requirement modelling, and shrinkage management.
In addition, Martin has played a key role in designing and refining live chat workflows and investigating customer touchpoints to create seamless experiences. He ensures consistent service across all channels by applying his extensive knowledge of Genesys solutions, optimising them to enhance customer interactions and streamline operations.
With a focus on leveraging data-driven insights and innovative tools, Martin Lewton continues to develop strategies that optimise workforce performance and productivity. He aligns these strategies with organisational goals by using advanced analytical tools to maintain optimal staffing levels.
Dean Jenkins
Head of Risk & Compliance
Dean has extensive expertise in ensuring that the company operates with the highest standards of integrity and regulatory compliance. Focused on good customer outcomes, Dean provides critical risk advice and support to various departments, helping mitigate potential risks and maintain a strong, compliant operational framework.
In his role, Dean co–ordinates regulatory reporting and leads the compliance monitoring programme ensuring that the company remains aligned with industry regulations. This includes due diligence of outsourced functions and third–party suppliers to ensure they meet the company's stringent standards. Dean is responsible for the development and implementation of complaints handling procedures, and a robust quality assurance framework, ensuring that the company is effectively managing contact from customers and any disputes or issues that may arise.

With extensive expertise in onboarding new brokers, Jen has played a key role in expanding and strengthening the company's network.
In addition to overseeing the onboarding process, Jen ensures compliance with regulatory standards, expertly handling regulatory audits to maintain operational integrity. They also manage a dedicated team of agents, driving sales and overall team performance to meet and exceed targets.
